This Parisian apartment captures the city’s romance through soft light, historical detailing, and a balanced sense of restraint.
Project Overview
Location: Paris, France
Type: Residential Interior
Size: 95 m²
Completed: 2024
Design Lead: Elvora Interiors
The Story
The client, a creative professional living between Paris and London, wanted a home that felt quietly luxurious — a place that respects the building’s heritage while embracing a clean, modern spirit.
The goal was to bring harmony between the apartment’s 19th-century architecture and the client’s contemporary lifestyle.
The Concept
We focused on contrast: the character of classic mouldings paired with minimalist furniture, neutral tones complemented by warm metals, and vintage textures beside sleek finishes.
A palette of ivory, soft taupe, and muted gold creates warmth without excess, allowing natural light from the tall Haussmann windows to become the main design feature.
Handcrafted lighting fixtures, bespoke oak cabinetry, and subtle brass details add depth while maintaining simplicity.
The apartment feels timeless — a quiet dialogue between Parisian history and modern living.
The Process
Preserving architectural authenticity was essential.
We restored original parquet floors, ceiling cornices, and French doors, then balanced them with custom modern interventions.
The design was executed in close collaboration with local artisans, ensuring every element — from the custom marble kitchen counter to the linen drapery — met the highest craftsmanship standards.
Materials & Details
Natural oak, brushed brass, linen, marble, and plaster.
Each chosen for its timeless texture and ability to age beautifully over time.
The Result
A sophisticated, light-filled apartment that feels intimate yet refined.
Every surface reflects the poetry of balance — where heritage meets modern harmony.
Client Words
“Elvora captured the soul of Paris without cliché — it feels like me, yet deeply connected to the city’s history.”
